The New Pornographers are a great indie rock band from Canada that show no mercy in hitting listeners with some of the most
engaging power pop to come out in recent years. Throughout the album, vocals alternate from Carl Newman's hard-hitting voice
to Neko Case's more soothing singing style. When one of these two isn't taking the lead vocals, the majority of the tracks
feature some great harmonies either with these two or between Case and Dan Bejar, another key player in the band's electrifying
sound. While songs like "Twin Cinema" and "Use It" offer up hooks that will stay in your head for days,
there are also some noteworthy slower songs like "These Are The Fables" that really show off the band's musical
strength. The album really hits its climax in "The Bleeding Heart Show", which slowly builds up to a fantastic sing-along
finale. Nearly every track on this album is awesome. Twin Cinema is a showcase of upbeat, powerful music that bounces right
along from beginning to end.
