Weezer's self-titled debut is remains a juggernaut of endlessly catchy pop tunes to this day. Commonly called "The Blue Album", the album is truly all killer no filler, with 10 perfectly executed rock songs. What makes Weezer stand out from other alt-rock bands of the 90s is their lovable, geeky image that gives them undeniable charm. When looking at the cover of the album, you would never believe that these solidly crafted rock songs came from these four guys who look about as close to rock stars as Steve Buscemi looks like a Schwarzenegger-action film hero. Their successful musical formula is comprised mostly of Rivers Cuomo's great vocals and lyrics, dynamic changes in tempo and volume, and a plethora of fantastic guitar hooks. The Blue Album will surely stand the test of time as a shining example of clear proof that anyone can be a rock star, as long as you have the heart for it.
