The White Stripes are currently the best Blues-Rock duo group around (despite being one of the few). For the majority of the
songs, Meg White is on the drumset and Jack White is on guitar and vocals. The philosophy behind The White Stripes' unique,
minimalistic rock lies in the Rule of Threes, as explained by Jack White in an NPR interview. Jack, the real mastermind behind
the band, believes that the most powerful forces come in threes. In accordance with the band, the trio of percussion, guitar,
and vocals fulfill this rule. While many may be deterred by what seems to be a very basic sound, these people should think
again. The White Stripes are able to rock like no other band around, especially in their 4th album release Elephant. Everything
about Elephant is big, including its title. In the spirit of rock's greatest, Jack and Meg tear off the roof in this pulse-pounding
blues-rock epic.
