The Eraser is a more than welcome release by Radiohead frontman/musical genius Thom Yorke. While fans have been waiting years
for Radiohead's highly anticipated next album, Yorke has actually been making his own album in his spare time on his laptop.
The Eraser is a heavily electronic album, primarily composed of beats and various digital sound elements. While much of the
sound is artificially created, the music's authenticity shines through by way of Yorke's unaltered and truly genuine vocals.
Yorke uses The Eraser as a vehicle to relieve himself of many of the concerns that he currently struggles with, including
politics and the apocalyptic possibilities of global warming. It's the most personal set of songs that he has ever written,
which is what makes it such an interesting listen. In the end, Yorke creates a world of stripped down digital soundscapes
in which he allows his voice to serve as an isolated, yet persistent force.
