After going through all of Beck's albums, Midnite Vultures is the most fun Beck album you'll come across from the pack. This time around, Beck ambitiously explores the mixture of soul, funk, and hip-hop, which ends up being unlike anything he has ever done before. Most easily compared to Prince's sound, the risks taken in Midnite Vultures are exactly what set Beck apart from so many other artists in the history of music. Beck is fearless in taking chances and exploring new sounds to play with. In every album he makes, he is delving into another new and exciting sound. Midnite Vultures is an eclectic mix of funky, glittery, juiced-up songs. Of course, there's the absurd humor that's inherent in all Beck albums, with hilarious lyrics in songs like "Hollywood Freaks" and "Debra". Beck's confidence in tackling this foreign musical territory is amazing. While not flawless, it's still an undeniable accomplishment. In the end, just sit back and enjoy this album. And if you don't like it, just throw in any other Beck album until you find the "Beck" that suits you most.
