Sha Sha is an impressive debut effort for a young artist trying to get his name out there into today's overpopulated music
industry. With the help of a handful of great alt-rock songs, Ben Kweller finds a way of breaking through and succeeding.
On Sha Sha, Kweller shows us his great sense of catchy rock songwriting, with tunes like "Commerce, TX" and "Harriet's
Got a Song". He also has a unique, youthful voice that guides us through the album. The mixture of song-styles is also
notable, giving us everything from moving piano-ballads ("In Other Words") to major servings of garage rock ("No
Reason"). Overall, this is a very solid album that thoroughly conveys the struggles of moving from adolescence to adulthood
that so many of us can relate to.
